FATHERS FIRST PROJECT
Most fathers today want to reassure their children that they love them. Sometimes, this comes as a result of growing up without a father themselves. The fathers may be there physically, and are emotionally absent. We can all fall into the same patterns without even realizing it.Our goal at the Fathers First Project is to provide some insight to awareness when it comes to dealing with our inner selves. Our responsibility to our clients is to help reveal the internal and external obstacles that can interfere with effective parenting and prepare them for the hard work ahead.We provide our fathers with lessons in anger management, conflicts in relationships, and effective parenting skills. The lessons will contribute to how they care and raise their children.Our groups will provide an environment where participants can openly discuss and learn different ways to handle various situations. Together, the group will learn to think ‘outside the box.’ With the hard work, we will also be sure the group enjoys themselves as well.Families will join the fathers to encourage learning, communication, and understanding. We will accommodate for relationships of any type and children of different age groups.Along with the instruction and information, there will be time for questions. We may not have all the answers but we have the ability to find the resources needed to get answers. That’s where the collaborative comes in.The Collaborative
The purpose of the Fathers First Collaborative is to bring community based organizations and governmental agencies together and exploring strategies that will encourage fathers to become proactive in the lives of their children. Thus increasing family interaction and encouraging fathers to be role models for their children.Our vision is focused on the unification of families by working to stop the violence in all areas of life and by increasing youth awareness through developing positive relationships in friendship, dating, and family.The collaborative will serve as a network of resources for the fathers and their families involved in our Support Group and Interactive.

The Fathers First Project is open to all fathers looking to find different ways of dealing with the challenge life brings when raising children.
